Function
In a refrigeration cycle system, the refrigerant must be completely vaporized before returning to the compressor. Therefore, the liquid and liquid states of the refrigerant must be separated before it enters the compressor. This ensures that the liquid refrigerant enters the compressor and prevents liquid slugging. To allow residual refrigerant in the system to return to the compressor, an oil hole is located at the bottom of the U-shaped return port in the liquid-liquid separator. This oil hole carries the liquid refrigerant back to the compressor along with the liquid refrigerant. With the protection of the liquid-liquid separator, the compressor's lifespan is extended, and the system cycle is more normal.
